Bezhuashvili Pays Official Visit To USA

Tbilisi. September 10 (Prime-News) – Gela Bezhuashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, will pay official visit to the United States on September 09-11.

Prime-News was told at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia that within the frameworks of the visit Bezhuashvili will hold meetings with Condoleezza Rice, the US Secretary of State, Robert Gates, the US Secretary of Defense, Stephen Hadley, National Security Advisor to the US, Tom Lantos, president Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Gela Bezhuashvili will also meet the high officials of the Congress, National Security Council, Vice-President’s Office, diplomatic corps accredited to Washington, representatives of mass media and scientific circles.

Visit Of Rumanian President To Georgia Postponed

 

Tbilisi. September 10 (Prime-News) – Official visit of Traian Basescu, President of Rumania, to Georgia is postponed.

Prime-News was told at the state chancellery of Georgia about that.

Visit of Traian Basescu was scheduled for September 10-11.

Traian Basescu was scheduled to hold meetings with Mikheil Saakashvili, President of Georgia, Nino Burjanadze, Chairwoman of the Parliament of Georgia, and other officials.

Georgian-Rumanian business forum was scheduled to be held within the framework of the visit of the Rumanian president to Georgia.

Tkemaladze: Candidature Of Aleksishvili May Fail Upon Burjanadze’s Request

Tbilisi. September 10 (Prime-News) – According to Zurab Tkemaladze, leader of the parliamentary faction “Industrialists”, candidature of Aleksi Aleksishvili former Finance Minister of Georgia on the position of president of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) may fail at the Parliament of Georgia upon request of Nino Burjanadze, Chairwoman of the Parliament of Georgia.

Tkemaladze told journalists that the Parliament might not approve Aleksishvili’s candidature on the post of member of NBG’s council, which will not allow him to become the president of NBG.

Candidature of Aleksi Aleksishvili former Finance Minister of Georgia on the position of president of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) will be discussed at the Bureau session today.

Parliament To Approve Aleksishvili As Member Of NBG Supervisory Board On Friday

Tbilisi. September 10 (Prime-News) – The Parliament of Georgia will approve candidature of Aleksi Aleksishvili as the member of NBG supervisory council on Friday.

Nino Burjanadze, Chairwoman of Georgian Parliament, stated at the Bureau session on Monday that she would support candidature of Aleksi Aleksishvili on the abovementioned position.

According to her, she is not against Aleksishvili’s candidature thus her opinion about him, as the president of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), remains unchanged.

Burjanadze stated last week that Lekso Aleksishvili would not be independent on the abovementioned position.

Saakashvili To Open Renewed Tennis Courts In Telavi

Tbilisi. September 10 (Prime-News) – Mikheil Saakashvili, president of Georgia will visit Telavi and open renewed tennis courts on Tuesday.

Gia Natsvlishvili, envoy of the president in Kakheti region (Eastern Georgia) told Prime-News that rehabilitation works at local tennis courts have been held during the whole summer. Local budget allocated GEL 301 344 to implementation of these works.

“Tbilsatbobmsheni” Ltd implemented the works. The courts correspond to international standards.

Burjanadze To Visit Korea On September 11-17

Tbilisi. September 10 (Prime-News) – Nino Burjanadze, Chairwoman of Georgian Parliament, will pay a working visit to Korea on September 11-17.

Prime-News was told at the press service of Georgian Parliament that within the frameworks of the visit Burjanadze would attend “World Women Forum”.

Burjanadze intends to meet government officilas of Korea.

De Facto Government Of Tskhinvali To Hold All Ossetian Assembly

Tbilisi. September 10 (Prime-News) – De facto government of the unrecognized republic South Ossetia intends to hold All Ossetian Assembly in Tskhinvali on September 18-19.

According to Press and Information Committee of the unrecognized republic South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity, de facto president of the unrecognized republic South Ossetia held a special meeting with the de facto Cabinet regarding the issue.

It is the sixth assembly of this kind and the first one, which will be held in Tskhinvali.

“The assembly is capturing the interest of ethnic Ossetians from all over the world and it has a huge importance,” Yuri Morozov, De facto Prime Minister said.
