Boney M To Hold Concert In Tamarasheni

Tbilisi. October 12 (Prime-News) – Legendary group Boney M will hold a concert in the village Tamarasheni of the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict on October 13.

Prime-News was told at the Temporary Administrative Unit in South Ossetia that the group was invited by the administration and the visit is organized by the “Eastern Promotion” Company.

The abovementioned concert will complete events organized by the movement “Kokoity Fandarast”, which started on October 03.

Boney M will arrive in Georgia tomorrow. It is planned to hold press conference at Sheraton Metechi Palace.

The concert in Tamarasheni is free of charge.

Tbilisi. October 12 (Prime-News) – The Ministry of Labour, Public Health and Social Affairs of autonomous republic Abkhazia and the Fund on Development and Introduction of Vascular Technologies will hold a joint charitable action in Upper Abkhazia on October 13-14.

Prime-News was told at Abkhazian media center that Dalila Khorava, Minister of Labour, Public Health and Social Affairs of autonomous republic Abkhazia and a group of doctors, comprised of 10 people would hold checkup of local population in hospital of the village Ajara.

The abovementioned Fund purchased medicines, which in case of necessity will be given to people free of charge.

Concert Of Russian Musicians Dedicated To 30th Anniversary Of Enthronement Of Catholicos-Patriarch Of All Georgia Ilia II To Be Held In Tbilisi

Tbilisi. October 15 (Prime-News) – A concert of young Russian singers Dmitry Kogan and Ivan Rudin will be held at Zakaria Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theater on October 15 regarding the 30th anniversary of enthronement and 75th jubilee of the Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II.

Prime-News was told at the Theatre that the musicians will perform works of Paganini, Shopen and Frank.

Cellist Dmitry Kogan was playing in several Russian orchestras; he participated in different festivals in the USA, European countries and the Baltic States.

Ivan Rudin performed in various countries and is a laureate of different festivals and competitions.

Azerbaijan Refutes Information On Closure Of Georgian Church

Tbilisi. October 16 (Prime-News) – Information that the only Georgian church in Azerbaijan’s district of Gakh is to be closed has been directed to complicate bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Azeri News Agency “Trend” informs about that referring to Khazar Ibrahim, Head of Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry’s Press Secretary.

“Azerbaijan is a tolerant country and the closure of any churches is impossible,” Ibrahim said.

According to information provided by the Georgian NGO ‘Information and Documentation Center’ the door of the church in the village of Kurumkhi was boarded up and the Georgians are not missed there.

The NGO states that the door was nailed up by Azerbaijanis who threatened the Georgians with physical punishment if the activity of the church is re-established.

On 16 October the Ombudsman of Georgia made an appeal to her Azerbaijani counterpart Elmira Suleymanova. According to information by the Ombudsman Office of Georgia, the letter contains concerns about the information on the closure of the Georgian church in the Azerbaijani district of Gakh.

Georgian Orthodox Believers Rallied Saingilo Incident Near Azeri Embassy To Georgia

Tbilisi. October 16 (Prime-News) – Representatives of the Georgian Orthodox Church and parish rallied the closure of Saint George’s Church in Kakhi, Saingilo, at the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Georgia on Tuesday.

Participants of the rally express dissatisfaction over forceful termination of service in the church, falling under supervision of the Georgina Orthodox Church.

The participants protested against the shut down of St. George’s Church in Azerbaijani Gakh region’s Kurmukhi village, where local Georgians used to pray and demanded the punishment of culprits.

The protesters submitted a petition written in Georgian to the representatives of the Embassy.

Giorgi Laghidze To Lodge Complaint Against “Herald Trade Company” To Court

Tbilisi. October 16 (Prime-News) – Giorgi Laghidze, Chairman of the Organization for Human Rights Protection, intends to lodge a claim against “Herald Trade Company” to the court.

Giorgi Laghidze told Prime-News that the aforementioned company failed to pay compensations – GEL 100 to the tradesmen of Tbilisi Central Supermarket.

According to his information, notwithstanding the insistent demand of the tradesmen none of the representatives of the company agree to meet them.

The dismantlement of Tbilisi Central Supermarket was carried out in August, 2007. According to an official data, about 1084 tradesmen were employed at Tbilisi Central Supermarket.
