IWPR Holds Meetings Regarding Conflicts And Minorities

Tbilisi. October 12 (Prime-News) – The Institute of War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) holds a round table with participation of journalists and NGOs acting in autonomous republic Adjara in Batumi today.

Prime-News was told at the IWPR, that participants of the meeting would discuss issues of highlighting problems related to conflicts and ethnic minorities.

The round table is held within frameworks of the project “Media of south Caucasus for deepening of trust in the society and prevention of conflicts”. The abovementioned project is implemented with the financial support of the GCPP.

IWPR is a British media organization based in London; its Caucasian Bureau is situated in Tbilisi. Regional bureaus of the organization are situated in 23 countries.

Tbilisi. October 12 (Prime-News) – The 40th anniversary of the Ethnographic Museum is celebrated in Tbilisi on October 12-13.


Prime-News was told at Tbilisi City Hall that a jubilee session would be opened at auditorium of the National Museum of Georgia.

Within frameworks of the event presentation of a general action plan, presented by the National Museum of Georgia, EWA Architechts and “Georgian House” will be held.

The Ethnographic Museum was founded on April 27, 1966.

Tbilisi. October 12 (Prime-News) – The Ministry of environment protection and natural resources of Georgia on the initiative of the Reserve Territories Department will hold an adventure tour in Vashlovani reserve on Sunday.

Prime-News was told at the Ministry of environment protection and natural resources of Georgia that representatives of diplomatic corps: Ambassadors of Turkey, Poland, Estonia, OSCE mission to Georgia and tour operators would participate in the tour.

Aim of the tour is popularization of the park, attraction of foreign diplomats and tourist companies and other partners for cooperation in tourism sphere.

Tbilisi. October 12 (Prime-News) – “Youth Alternative” of Tbilisi State University protests against financial obscurity and disordered management at the University.

Prime-News was told at the “Youth Alternative” that narrow circle of students is managing funds of the University.

According to them, it is revealed that GEL 200 000, allocated for students’ self-government had been improperly spent.

The organization appeals to corresponding structures to pay attention to the situation.
