Session Of State Commission On Determination Of Status Of South Ossetia To Be Held In Two Weeks

Zurab Noghaideli, Prime Minister of Georgia, stated at the Cabinet Meeting on Thursday that he would like working groups to have time for elaboration of concrete proposals.

The abovementioned commission, headed by Zurab Noghaideli, was established last month.

Georgia Has About 6000 Evidences About August 06 Incident

Tbilisi. August 16 (Prime-News) – Georgia has about 6000 evidenced about the August 06 violation of Georgian airspace and attack on the state.

Vano Merabishvili, Interior Minister of Georgia, stated at the cabinet Meeting on Thursday that the case includes testimonies of eyewitnesses and data of radars, which confirm firing of rocket.

Merabishvili also pointed on the fact that the Russian side, which stated earlier about non-carrying out of any exercises in North Caucasus, widespread the information about exercises with involvement of military aviation and Su-24 jets.

Merabishvili stated that the MIA has conformations and finding about fact of bombardment, which will be published after all international experts evaluate the incident.

Russian Experts Awaited In Georgia

Tbilisi. August 16 (Prime-News) – Official Tbilisi will try to convince Russian experts that Georgian side has incontrovertible evidences about bombing of the village Tsitelubani in Gori region.

Gela Bezhuashvili, Foreign Minister of Georgia, told journalists before the Cabinet meeting on Thursday that the Independent Inter-governmental Expert Group (IIEG) confirmed the fact of violation of Georgian airspace from Russian territory on August 06.

Bezhuashvili stated that Russian delegation comprised of 25 people including Lieutenant General Igor Khvorov, Head of the Staff of Air Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Kenyaikin, Ambassador at large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, and specialists of Russian MIA and Foreign Ministry, will participate in investigation of the incident.

The report from the International Group of Experts (IGE) investigating the incident of August 6, 2007, confirms that the Georgian airspace was violated by the aircraft that entered from the territory of the Russian Federation. The IGE consisted of experts from Sweden, The USA, Lithuania and Latvia.

Tbilisi. August 16 (Prime-News) – Zurab Noghaideli, Prime Minister of Georgia, will visit Guria region on Friday.

Prime-News was told at the Office of Georgian Prime Minister, that Noghaideli would visit repaired schools in the villages Khevi Kvenobani and construction works of roads in Chokhatauri-Ozurgeti and Ozurgeti-Ureki.
In Ozurgeti Noghaideli will get familiar with works on the water pipeline, visit hazelnut-reprocessing plant, private children’s hospital and construction of sports gym for 500 people.

Group Of Russian Experts Arrived In Tbilisi

Tbilisi. August 16 (Prime-News) – Group of Russian experts arrived on a special flight in Tbilisi on at 17:30 on Thursday to investigate the August 06 incident.

Representatives of the Russian Embassy in Georgia met the delegation at Tbilisi international Airport.

Meeting of Russian and Georgian military experts at the Defense Ministry of Georgia is scheduled for 19:00 p.m. Working schedule of Russian experts will be agreed at the meeting.

The Russian delegation comprised of 6 people including Lieutenant General Igor Khvorov, Head of the Staff of Air Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Kenyaikin, Ambassador at large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, and specialists of Russian MIA and Foreign Ministry, will participate in investigation of the incident.

Sergey Lavro, Russian Foreign Minister, expressed hope that the Russian military experts would put an end to this very questionable issue.
